Serendipity

Hi guys! Let me start by telling you that in no way was this blogpost planned. It was completely in-the-moment bundled up with unexpected meetings with friends and the occasional SLR camera. And doing what any other camera whore would do, I posed (erm, tried to pose) like it was my last day on earth. In other words, I decided that this was one photo op not to be missed. And yes, this means that this post is more than just an outfit post, think of it more of like a collaboration post :D

Basically, this whole thing started off with me getting a haircut. (Although not entirely evident, I assure you that I did in fact get my hair cut, uhm, trimmed #longhairdontcaremofos) I went alone because everyone else was watching Catching Fire (which I saw the night before and oh yeah it wasgood and EXACTLY like the book) or busy was something and I getty pre-tty annoyed with my demonic split ends, so I was like "Oh, eff it". The whole experience at the salon was really awkward and eerily quiet, like everyone else at the salon was having a bad day.

Anyway, after I got my hair trimmed, (I promise, I did), I suddenly got the irrevocable craving for something called Love Potion No. 9, aka, Liquid Oreos, aka milk tea from Bon Appetea. And ultimately, I found myself encapsulated in it's Post - it clad walls, sipping on oreos. (As depicted in the picture above)

Oh and I also ran into MJ Lacuesta who accompanied my lonely ass for a fair margin of the afternoon :D Thanks girl :)

And theeen, I kinda sorta ran into them :D

And being the vain people that we are, uhm, this happened....

And this....

No Other Woman in 3,2,1.....

And of course, I couldn't miss out on some ootd shots :D

Rawr.

Oh the wonders of using an actual camera and not my phone.

And I was also blessed with a high-def collab with my hipsta sista @fayeflancia. And as you can see, we swapped shoes. If I had the chance, I would have taken her Docs home with me, but alas, it was not mean to to be :D #thatrhymes

My outfit for this shoot was the simple floral and denim look. Plains + prints won't let you down once you know which pieces go together. Paired with some simple accessories, it's a hassle free and comfy ensemble.

I am in love with these leggings too because they are thick enough to not show panty lines and they are very unique when it comes to their color. I wish that I could tell you guys where I got them but all I know is that my mom got them for me a few years back and that's all I know. They are a mystery. *creepy noises*

♡ Outfit Description
Chambray shirt - Oxygen
Floral Leggings - I don't even know
Rings - Forever 21
Doc Martens - c/o @fayeflancia

And credits also to Renz Madriaga, our awesome photographer :)

You know, all I was planning to do on this day was to get a haircut, get some milk tea, live my "alone at a starbucks aka Bon" fantasy for a bit, then go straight home. I didn't expect that I would be surrounded by amazing friends just when I needed it the most. Someone up there is looking after me.

Fair Lady (poem post)

Hush now, lips together
silent vow, is forever
hand in mine
invisible twine

Head as straight,
as her hair
hands as rough,
as his wear

Glistening crown,
mine to break,
Soldier's soul,
yours to take

Azure sky,
mine to reach
Warmth from life,
yours to leach

Golden joy,
mine to leak
daises dead,
yours to seek

Road of dark,
hour of death,
bear with me
blind to see

She was burnt lace,
broken beauty,
He was blue fire
ignited to me

Withered looks
ignored the race
burned the books,
forgotten face

bed of flowers,
silence after
too late to cry
a torn chapter

Fair lady,
pulled from life
Your desperate cry
won't suffice

Fair Lady, Lia Pauline P Paderon.

& I go back to black

All black today, as you can see from the convenient title  up there :) This, adding up with my laziness, has caused my  ootd's to become a little simpler and comfier. And with the bipolar weather that's been going on,I don't think that that's necessarily a bad thing.

It seems that climate change is really taking a toll on the world, and where I'm from, the weather changes faster than you can say "Global Warming". It's November right? So it's supposed to be cold, right? But it's not. In  fact, it's scorching hot and rain showers come and go, never staying for a long time. And most of the time, when it rains in the morning, you can bet that you'll be living in a microwave by noon, so I've gotten used to just wearing shirts and shorts. I'm laid back like that. :D Plus, they are way more comfortable to be in than uber girly wear, like whuuuuut.

Seeeee, laid back? Anyway, do you see it now? Do you see the perks of not wearing skirts and dresses all the time? Not that I'm bashing Taylor Swift and other girly girly GIRLY girls out there, but hey, I have got a solid point. I do, in fact, enjoy being able to act like a total dumbass without the fear of my underwear showing or being afraid to take big steps because I'm afraid someone is going to step on my toes because of the fact that I'm wearing open toed shoes. Nah, def not for me. Well, sometimes... but, meh.

OHHH THE FREEEEDOM.  Hahaha. Can I please wear vans to prom and watch everybody else trip and fall over ? *evil laugh*

Thanks bro, Jett Romano for letting me borrow (or exchange, rather) the Obey cap, btw. :)

This was shot at around 4-ish and that's why there's like this warm angelic glow covering my face over there. And to be brutally honest, this head to toe black look was inspired by, the one, the only... HARRY STYYYLES! That dude wears black a lot. A lot. Me, being my badass #feelingbadassbutisreallyweakandscaredandlikesstuffedtoys self, chose to go against the Filipino mindset of only wearing all black to a funeral or to a night club and being like, "Yes I'm wearing black. No, no one died." Take that you super bulaan matatandang Pilipino na nagsasabing mababaliw ka pag natulog ng basa ang buhok! #anongkonek #galit :D

And hooray for this post because it features my bestfriend (when it comes to shoes that is), my trusty black chucks. Even before I knew what the hell vans and doc martens were, these babies were always with me, supporting me every step of the way. #seewhatIdidthere. And as you can probably tell, they have served me well. They go with ANYTHING. In fact, I'd wear them with my school uniform if I could. Dear Chucks, even though you smell bad, I love you. If dirty converse is the best converse, the you're the bestestestest converse ever.

Did I, Lia Pauline P. Paderon just write a letter to my smelly shoes?

Yes, yes I did.

♡ Outfit Description
Cap - borrowed from @jettbenedictromano
Cat muscle shirt - Greenhills
Studded black shorts - Forever 21

See my arm screaming "I need to exercise"?

See me ignoring it completely and thinking "Meh, you'll just get fat again"

No Neon

Hello :)

Can we take a moment to appreciate how emo my face is here? Sorry about the dark pictures. I took this when the sky was gloomy so, my bad.

Anyway, just as the ancient Chinese said, everything must have balance. And yes, that also includes one's seemingly irrelevant and disconnected choice of outfit. Balance is the key. I let the neon oxfords and neon blouse standout by pairing it with plain black high waisted shorts and a bowler hat to give the outfit a little boost.

Back to Basics

I'm pretty sure that  absolutely everyone has a go-to outfit. You know, the stuff you just throw on if you're either hella tired or hella lazy  (mostly the latter) and can't even be bothered to dress up. Yeahhh, that outfit. For some people, it's a t shirt and jeans, for others it's a sweater and some leggings. For me, well... it's this.

In a nutshell, this is my usual uniform. It's my go-to outfit. When going out with friends, or going out alone or if I'm just gonna buy some deodorant at the mall. The muscle tee + shorts + vans combination is laid back, easy to move in, light, comfy and real swaggity. #whut Plus, it's hassle free. Anyone can cut the sleeves of a shirt or you can buy one already like this. On the downside, the muscle shirt + shorts + vans combo is REALLY mainstream though. I mean, REALLY. For my fellow sore thumbs out there, the way to make it stand out from the crowd is how you put the colors together.

This shirt.

rebelle fleur.

Hi guys! Finding time to post has gotten really hard with school and all but now that semestral break has erupted from the gates of heaven and has now been bestowed upon us by Jesus Christ himself, I have finally gotten time to write my thoughts all up in yah facez. Haha.

mask the dark

I'll start off by saying that the title of this post is waaay too emo. #lol :D

Hey guys! Sorry that I haven't been posting for while. School has been a real mofo and I was a facilitator in a YFC camp at my school which was one of the most awesome experiences of my life evahhhh! (Check out my post about the camp later) So anyway, here is the outfit I shot last week. Sticking with my ever sweater weather fanatic title, I was inspired by those tumblr pics with girls wearing these thigh high socks. Desperate for this uber long legwear, I scoured online shops on instagram, meticulously searching when I finally came upon these high socks-style tights! These are awesome because they work with dresses that are too short, or in this case, a sweater that is a cross between a dress and a shirt that I really didn't know what to do with. And the best part, they don't fall down like normal socks do!

I'm hiding behind this

"My ship went down
In a sea of sound
When I woke up alone I had everything,
A handful of moments I wished I could change
And a tongue like a nightmare that cut like a blade.
In a city of fools,
I was careful and cool,
But they tore me apart like a hurricane...
A handful of moments I wished I could change
But I was carried away."

Weirdest Of the Weird

Wow.

To be impressed is one thing. Shocked and awed by the skill and talent of something that you stand up, clap, your mouth forming the word, "wow". A standing ovation to a brilliant talent soon forgotten as the night goes on. To be IMPRESSED is another thing. Not even having the sense of mind to react, paralyzed by something so weird yet outstandingly beautiful. Mouth open, eyes gaping, breath hitched, no words coming out of your frozen mouth. As if no words would actually compensate for the shock and joy you've experienced. Not wanting to believe what you saw or heard, but thanking God that you did. That's not being impressed, it's disbelief. Disbelief that something you didn't know could be done or could exist, was right there, beaming.

I'll keep your petals in my pages, darling.

Love is many things. It's a rollercoaster, sometimes it goes down, but when you go up again, it feels like you're on top of the world. It's like chocolate. Even a small piece can pick you up, but eat too much and you'll get sick. It's like your favorite song. When you hear it, you play it over and over again but play it for too long and you'll miss out on all the other sounds. And like the ever-present (and annoying :D) cliche, love is like a rosary, full of mysteries. But its true isn't it? One person can affect you so much without lifting a finger or saying a word. It all seems stupid and some even say it's silly but, for the non-believers, when you feel those butterflies making a merciless stampede in your stomach, we'll see how the tides turn.
